One of the most lovely things about being a boho-crafty type is the utter pleasure you get from meeting other arty types and appreciating their work. No two of us are the same and by gosh there are some talented individuals out there.
One of our favorite lovely artists is Carlie Martece. We met her once-upon-a-time at a Book Club and kept in touch through social media networks, as you do.
Carlie wrote a stunningly good book callled Toxic Nursery (really – check it out). When Sam started making crazy resin knuckledusters, she though of Carlie. Carlie’s art is unique, blending psychedelia, fragility and violence with mind-blowing talent. Something in one particular rainbow-hued piece Sam made seemed like it had just dropped out of from one of Carlie’s artworks. She sent Carlie a picture and Carlie loved the knuckelduster, which has now incorporated one into her latest collages.
Check. It. Out. It is beauteously, fabulously crazy. Click on the picture to go straight to Carlie’s website to look at her other amazing collages, sketches, drawings and photography (we especially love the nailed series of photographs).
